Ring Ouzel

Turdus torquatus

The Ring Ouzel is a medium-sized thrush found in mountainous regions across Europe and Asia. It is known for its striking black plumage with a prominent white crescent on its breast. This species is often found in rocky areas and upland habitats, where it forages for insects, berries, and small invertebrates. The Ring Ouzel is known for its melodious and flute-like song, which it uses to communicate with its mate and defend its territory. While the population is currently stable, the species faces threats from habitat loss and climate change.
