Rose-crowned Fruit Dove

Rose-crowned Fruit Dove, Ptilinopus regina, is a fruit dove of the Columbidae that breeds in the Lesser Sundas and in northern and eastern Australia. It was first described by Swainson in 1825. It lives in lowland rainforest and monsoon forest across those areas. The bird is marked by a pinkish-red crown edged in yellow, with a grey head and breast, an orange belly, a whitish throat, a yellow-orange iris, and a greyish green bill and feet. The Indonesian form has a whitish crown and paler head and breast. The sexes look alike.
