Rosy Minivet

Pericrocotus roseus (Vieillot, 1818)

Rosy Minivet, Pericrocotus roseus, is a passerine in the cuckooshrike family that breeds across the Himalayas to southern China, Myanmar and north-west Vietnam, and spends the non-breeding season in central India, Thailand, Laos and southern Vietnam. It is recognised by the male’s deep pink to light red wings and tail, while the female has an olive to olive-yellow rump unlike the bright yellow seen in other minivets. Both sexes are grey above. It was described by Vieillot in 1818.
