Dendrocincla homochroa (Sclater, PL, 1860)

Ruddy Woodcreeper, Dendrocincla homochroa, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family that breeds from southern Mexico through Middle America into north-west Venezuela. It is a bird of forested country, using lowland deciduous forest, rainforest, cloudforest and gallery forest, and it is most often found inside mature primary and secondary woodland. It also occurs along edges, in younger secondary growth and in more open places with trees. The species is a year-round resident over much of its range, though birds may move from higher ground in Central America. It is a follower of army ant swarms and usually appears singly or in pairs.
