Rufous-lored Tyrannulet

Phylloscartes flaviventris (Hartert, EJO, 1897)

Rufous-lored Tyrannulet, Phylloscartes flaviventris, is a passerine of northern Venezuela in the Tyrannidae family. It was first described by Hartert in 1897. Its breeding range is confined to Venezuela, where it occurs in scattered mountain areas. The bird lives in damp to wet evergreen montane forest, mainly in the upper tropical belt and also in cloudforest at greater heights. It is found inside forest and along edges, and remains in the same area throughout the year. A rufous forehead and lores help distinguish it, along with bright yellow underparts and two wing bars.
