Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin, Cercotrichas galactotes, breeds in south-central and south-western parts of the Palearctic and spends the non-breeding season in Africa. It is a member of the Muscicapidae and was described by Temminck in 1820. The bird is associated with dry open country where bushes and shrubs grow. It is larger than the European robin. Its long rufous tail is often spread, revealing black and white tips on the tail feathers. Adult male and female look alike, and the juvenile is similar to the adult but paler.
