San Andres Vireo

Vireo bairdi

The San Andres Vireo (Vireo bairdi) is a small, insectivorous bird found primarily in the pine-oak woodlands of the San Andres Archipelago in the western Caribbean. This species is known for its distinctive song, a series of high-pitched, rapid phrases. The San Andres Vireo forages for insects and spiders in the dense foliage of its forest habitat, often moving methodically through the canopy. It is a non-migratory species and forms monogamous breeding pairs. The San Andres Vireo is currently considered vulnerable due to habitat loss and fragmentation.
