Santa Marta Brushfinch, Atlapetes melanocephalus, is a passerine of the Passerellidae family that lives in Colombia, confined to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in the far north of the country. It was described by Salvin and Godman in 1880. The bird is a resident of humid montane forest, especially along edges, and also uses brushy pastures, shade coffee plantations and gardens. Its most notable feature is a mostly black head with a silvery grey patch on the ear coverts.
