Schneider's Pitta

Hydrornis schneideri

Schneider's Pitta is a small, brightly colored bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive combination of bright blue, green, and black plumage, with a red belly and a white throat. This species is known for its melodious and varied calls, often heard in the dense undergrowth of its habitat. Schneider's Pitta is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. It nests on the ground, constructing a cup-shaped nest from leaves and twigs. Due to habitat loss and degradation, this species is considered vulnerable to extinction.
