Sclater's Whistler

Sclater's Whistler, Pachycephala soror, is a bird of montane New Guinea in the whistler family. It breeds in the highlands of New Guinea, and its range is tied to subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Four subspecies are recognised: soror in north-western New Guinea, klossi in central and eastern New Guinea, octogenarii in the Kumawa Mountains of western New Guinea, and bartoni in south-eastern New Guinea and on Goodenough Island. The name honours the British zoologist Philip Lutley Sclater.
