Short-billed Minivet

Pericrocotus brevirostris

The Short-billed Minivet is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its striking plumage, with the male having a combination of black, gray, and red colors, while the female has more subdued gray and yellow tones. These birds are often seen foraging for insects and small fruits in the upper canopy of trees. They are known for their melodious calls and are often found in small groups or pairs. The Short-billed Minivet is not currently considered to be at risk, but deforestation and habitat loss are potential threats to its population.
