Slaty Vireo, Vireo brevipennis, is a bird of the Vireonidae family found in southern Mexico. It lives in inland areas of south-western Mexico, from southern Jalisco to central Oaxaca and a little into western Veracruz. It is a resident bird all year. Its habitat includes scrub with oaks, the lower layers and margins of pine-oak forest, and thickets, usually between 1,200 and 3,000 m above sea level. The sexes look alike. Adults have slate-grey underparts and a distinctive olive-green crown, with a white iris, black bill, and dark grey legs and feet.
