Snowcap, Microchera albocoronata, is a hummingbird of Middle America, breeding from Honduras to Panama. It lives in humid lowland and montane forest, semi-open woodland and secondary growth, and is often seen more readily in forest edges, clearings and plantations than in dense interior forest. The species has a short black bill and black legs. Adult males show a white forehead and crown, while females have a metallic green back, bronze uppertail coverts and pale greyish white underparts.
