Solitary Eagle Buteogallus solitarius lives in Mexico and across Middle and South America, especially in mountainous and hilly forest. It is a bird of the Accipitridae family and is closely related to the black-hawks. The adult is mostly dark grey and can look black, with white on the tail. Its broad wings are a key feature, and it has a thickset build. Young birds are brown and tan with markings around the eyes, and they resemble the adult.
