Travel across northeast Mexico on a twelve-day birding journey connecting three contrasting regions. El Cielo Biosphere Reserve ranges from tropical to temperate forest and supports birds such as Tamaulipas Pygmy-Owl and Ornate Hawk-Eagle.
Around Monterrey, mountain, forest and desert habitats offer chances for Maroon-fronted Parrot and the critically endangered Worthen's Sparrow. The route then reaches Cuatro Cienegas, where springs, wetlands, gypsum dunes and open desert support species such as Sandhill Crane and Pyrrhuloxia.
