Sombre Greenbul

Andropadus importunus

The Sombre Greenbul, also known as the Sombre Bulbul, is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage, a slightly hooked bill, and a melodious, flute-like song. This species is known for its secretive nature, often remaining hidden within the dense foliage of its habitat. The Sombre Greenbul feeds on a variety of insects, fruits, and seeds, foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. While its population appears stable, deforestation and habitat loss pose potential threats to its long-term survival.
