Spectacled White-eye

Zosterops erythropleurus

The Spectacled White-eye (Zosterops erythropleurus) is a small passerine bird found in the Philippines. It is characterized by its distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and yellow underparts. This species is known for its acrobatic foraging behavior, often seen flitting through the foliage in search of insects and nectar. The Spectacled White-eye is typically found in forested areas, including both primary and secondary growth, as well as in gardens and wooded urban areas. While not currently considered globally threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to this species' long-term survival.
