Spot-breasted Laughingthrush, Garrulax merulinus, is a passerine in the Leiothrichidae family, breeding across the Oriental Region from eastern India to northern Vietnam. It occurs in Yunnan, north-east India, Laos, Myanmar, north-west Thailand and northern Vietnam. Blyth described it in 1851. It is linked with subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. The orange-breasted laughingthrush of south-central Vietnam was once treated as part of this bird, but is now often considered separate.
