Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush, Myophonus blighi, is a resident bird of Sri Lanka’s highlands in the Oriental Region, belonging to the Muscicapidae. It is tied to jungle and other thick forest close to water, and is a localised endemic of the island. A notable feature is its strong association with upland habitat, especially around Horton Plains National Park and a site near the Haggala Botanical Gardens by Nuwara Eliya. It is a shy species that is hard to observe, and it is not known to gather in flocks, though a few birds may occur loosely together in suitable places.
