Sumatran Ground Cuckoo, Carpococcyx viridis, is a cuckoo of montane Sumatra in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the family Cuculidae and the order Cuculiformes. Salvadori described it in 1879. It is a ground-dwelling bird from the forests of Sumatra, and it was once treated as the same species as the Bornean ground cuckoo before being recognised again as distinct. It was long known from only eight specimens, then went unrecorded from 1916 until its rediscovery and first photograph in 1997.
