Sumatran Trogon, Apalharpactes mackloti, is a bird of montane Sumatra in Indonesia, where it breeds in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the trogon family and was described by Müller, S, 1836. Endemic to the island, it is tied to lower montane forest on the slopes of the Barisan Mountains, within the 750 to 2,200 m range. It is one of the Asian trogons with iridescent plumage, and males show a chestnut band on the rump together with stronger wing barring than the female.
