Tui, Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae, is a passerine of New Zealand, breeding on the North, South and Stewart islands, as well as the Kermadec, Chatham and Auckland islands. It belongs to the honeyeater family Meliphagidae. Its most notable feature is the white throat tuft known as the poi. It is the only member of the genus Prosthemadera. The species was described by Gmelin in 1788.
