Tundra Swan

Cygnus columbianus

The Tundra Swan, also known as the Bewick's Swan in Europe, is a majestic waterfowl species found in the tundra and wetland habitats of North America and Eurasia. These swans are known for their distinctive black beak with a yellow spot and their graceful, long necks. They are primarily herbivorous, feeding on aquatic plants and grasses. Tundra Swans are known for their haunting calls and impressive V-shaped flight formations during migration. These birds are highly migratory, traveling long distances between their breeding and wintering grounds. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their breeding and wintering habitats and to mitigate threats such as habitat loss and hunting.
