Urubamba Antpitta

Grallaria occabambae (Chapman, 1923)

Grallariidae — Antpittas

Urubamba Antpitta, Grallaria occabambae, is a passerine of the family Grallariidae found in south-east Peru, in Junín and Cusco. It was first treated as a subspecies in 1923 and later recognised as a full species in 2020. Its separation from the rufous antpitta group was based on differences in plumage and vocalisations. The species is endemic to Peru and includes two subspecies, G. o. occabambae and G. o. marcapatensis, which differ slightly in plumage and song.
