Violet-green Swallow

The Violet-green Swallow is a small bird known for its striking plumage and graceful aerial acrobatics. With iridescent violet and green feathers on its back and white underparts, this species is a beautiful sight in flight. These swallows are often found in open woodlands, forests, and near water, where they catch insects on the wing. They build their cup-shaped nests in tree cavities or man-made structures. The Violet-green Swallow is a migratory bird, spending winters in Central and South America. Despite facing threats such as habitat loss and pesticide use, this species maintains a stable population and is not currently considered at risk.
