White-banded Mockingbird, Mimus triurus, is a bird of central Argentina, with its breeding range in South America and its non-breeding range extending to Bolivia and southern Brazil. It belongs to the Mimidae family and was described by Vieillot in 1818. It is a monotypic species and is closely related to the brown-backed mockingbird. In the breeding season it is thought to feed mainly on insects. Its nest is an open cup built from twigs and lined with softer material, set low in vegetation, often in a thorny bush.
