Osorio and Maquine Birdwatching Route with Roberto Botelho
A private 4- to 7-day birding route around Osorio and Maquine, linking northern Rio Grande do Sul’s wetlands and open-country habitats.
About this tour
This private route covers the Osorio and Maquine area within northern coastal Rio Grande do Sul. It offers a change from the highland Atlantic Forest around Roberto Botelho’s home base, with marshes and Pampa-influenced open landscapes supporting a different bird community.
Roberto’s wider Litoral Norte programme connects sites around Osorio with nearby coastal and wetland country. The four- to seven-day format is flexible, allowing field stops to follow current water levels, access and bird activity. Potential specialties span marsh, grassland, riparian and open-country species.
The final programme may coordinate the Osorio–Maquine focus with nearby Litoral Norte sections. Daily routing, accommodation, transport, meeting point, price and inclusions are finalized after an inquiry. All species remain possible observations rather than promises.
