White-browed Spinetail, Hellmayrea gularis, is a bird of the Andes in north-west Venezuela to central Peru, with its breeding range also extending through Colombia and Ecuador. It belongs to the ovenbird family Furnariidae and is the only species placed in its genus. It is a resident bird and is most often found in elfin forest, but it also uses montane evergreen forest and the edges and undergrowth of cloudforest, especially where Chusquea bamboo grows. Its short tail helps set it apart from other spinetails.
