White-throated Bush Chat, Saxicola insignis, breeds in Mongolia and spends the nonbreeding season in India and Nepal. It is a passerine in the chat and Old World flycatcher family. In the breeding months it uses alpine and sub-alpine meadows and scrub in mountain areas, while in winter it is found in the Nepal and Indian Terai and the Dooars. It also occurs in grasslands, reedbeds and tamarisk growth beside rivers, and in sugarcane fields. The species was described by Gray, JE & Gray, GR, 1847.
