White-throated Robin, Irania gutturalis, is a migratory passerine of the Muscicapidae family that breeds across western Asia from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Iran, and spends the non-breeding season in north-eastern and eastern Africa. It is the only species in the genus Irania. Its breeding places are dry, rocky mountain slopes with scrub, usually at high altitude, though it also uses semi-desert, mountain steppe and ravines with streams. The breeding male shows lead-grey upperparts, orange underparts and a white throat patch, while the female is duller with greyer underparts and a less distinct throat.
