White-throated Rock Thrush

Monticola gularis (Swinhoe, 1863)

White-throated Rock Thrush, Monticola gularis, is a passerine of the Muscicapidae family that breeds across eastern Mongolia, south-eastern Russia and central China, and spends the non-breeding season in southern China and south-east Asia. It is associated with temperate forest, mixed montane forest, shrubland and rocky ground. Adult males show white on the throat and chin, with chestnut-orange below. Females are brown or olive-brown above with strongly scalloped underparts. Young males are grey or golden-brown with orange underparts.
