Yellow-billed teal

Anas flavirostris

The Yellow-billed teal, or Anas flavirostris, is a species of dabbling duck found in South America. It is characterized by its distinctive yellow bill and mottled brown plumage. These ducks prefer freshwater habitats such as marshes, lakes, and rivers, where they feed on aquatic plants, seeds, and small invertebrates. They are often seen in small flocks and are known for their rapid, low flight. The Yellow-billed teal is not currently considered to be at risk, with stable populations across its range.
