Yellow-breasted Bunting, Emberiza aureola, is a passerine in the bunting family Emberizidae, breeding in bushy parts of the Palearctic from Murmansk in far north-west Russia east to Chukotka, Kamchatka, the Kuril and Commander islands, Sakhalin, and south to far northern Kazakhstan, far northern Xinjiang, northern and central Mongolia, northern Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and far northern Hokkaido. In the nonbreeding season it is found in subtropical fields across the eastern Asian region, from the sub-Himalayan zone of central Nepal east through south-east Asia, apart from the southern Malay Peninsula, and into south-east China.
