Yellow-eared Spiderhunter

Arachnothera chrysogenys (Temminck, 1826)

Yellow-eared Spiderhunter, Arachnothera chrysogenys, is a bird of the sunbird family found in the Oriental Region, including the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, the Riau and Lingga Islands north-east of central Sumatra, western Java and Borneo. It is also recorded from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Its breeding range is tied to lowland forest, mangrove forest and moist montane forest in tropical and subtropical areas. The species was described by Temminck in 1826.
