About this tour

Spend two autumn days exploring agricultural and wetland country around Saskatoon for migrating Whooping and Sandhill Cranes. The guide selects the route from recent reports and field conditions, stopping at respectful distances where birds can be watched safely.

The regular programme allows about eight hours in the field each day. Whooping Crane locations change as birds move between feeding and roosting areas, so sightings are not guaranteed and the exact route remains flexible.

Private departures are available on many dates from September 19 through the end of October 2026. Parties of up to four travel in one personal or rented vehicle and arrange their own meals, accommodation and transportation.
