About this tour
Travel from Quito into the broad high-Andean landscapes of Antisana Ecological Reserve, where open paramo, volcanic scenery and wetland habitat provide one of Ecuador’s important settings for searching for Andean Condors. The route can also produce other raptors, high-elevation waterbirds and characteristic paramo species.
This is a private field day of about ten hours. The guide adjusts the sequence of stops to weather, road access and current bird activity, which is especially useful in an exposed mountain environment where wind, cloud and visibility can change the pace of birding. Warm layers and sun protection are sensible even when conditions look clear at departure.
The published arrangement includes private transport from the agreed Quito pickup point, specialist guiding, reserve and activity fees, lunch, a soft drink, coffee and tea. The listed starting price of USD 110 per person applies to a group of seven or eight, with higher per-person tiers for smaller parties. Exact pickup time, route and current price are confirmed in the final proposal; condor and other wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
