About this tour

Travel from the coast into rural and inland Gambia with Abdoulie Jallow on a route built for dedicated birders, wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. The programme links forest, rice field, raptor country, protected savannah, riverine woodland and freshwater wetlands.

Early stages explore Farasuto, Pirang, Kampanti and Kiang West before the journey follows the River Gambia through Tendaba, Bansang, Janjanbureh and Kuntaur. Boat sessions add access to mangrove creeks and river wildlife, while the return route visits Kaur, Jahally and Panchang.

The final day provides flexibility to revisit habitat for species missed earlier, subject to departure timing and current conditions.
