Joel Hagen

Joel Hagen is a Lake Louise-based naturalist and Master Interpreter who works across Banff, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks. He began birdwatching in childhood, studied biology at Simon Fraser University and moved to Banff National Park in 1992. Through Great Divide Nature Interpretation, Joel offers private birding outings near Banff and Field alongside guided hikes. He describes himself as a skilled naturalist and good birder, not an expert birder, and focuses on realistic seasonal opportunities rather than promising rare or difficult single-species sightings.
