About this tour
Travel southwest from Mela Kothi - Chambal Safari Lodge into the agricultural country along the edge of the Chambal ravines. This private jeep safari combines open-landscape wildlife watching with focused dry-country birding away from the river itself.
Blackbuck are the principal mammal interest, while Indian Courser is the highlighted birding possibility. The route also provides opportunities to observe other birds using cultivated fields, scrub and ravine-edge habitat. Sightings remain subject to season, farming activity and the movement of wild animals.
The experience lasts approximately three to four hours and covers an area about 30 kilometres from the lodge. It combines driving with walking across agricultural fields and also passes remote settlements in the Chambal countryside. Travel by jeep from the lodge toward farmland on the edge of the Chambal ravines. Alternate between vehicle-based observation and short walks while looking for Blackbuck, Indian Courser and other open-country birds.
