About this tour
This 16-day Kenyan circuit combines birding with the country’s characteristic mammals and landscapes. From Nairobi it reaches Samburu’s dry country, Ol Pejeta below Mount Kenya, the lakes of the Rift Valley, Kakamega Forest and Lake Victoria before a Masai Mara finale.
The habitat range supports northern specialities, waterbirds, tropical-forest species and a broad savanna list. Vulturine Guineafowl, Secretarybird and White-throated Bee-eater stand out among many raptors, weavers and kingfishers, while the extended Mara section allows repeated game drives.

Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi arrival for the northern circuit
Meet in Nairobi on the opening day and prepare for the journey toward northern Kenya and the Rift Valley. Activity depends on arrival arrangements.
Day 2
Samburu birds and northern mammals
Explore Samburu’s dry habitats for regional bird specialities. Game viewing also concentrates on the distinctive mammals of northern Kenya.
Day 3
Ol Pejeta below Mount Kenya
Move to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for a mixed birding and wildlife session. Mount Kenya provides the landscape backdrop to this stage.
Day 4
Nakuru, Baringo and Bogoria waters
Work the contrasting lake environments of the Rift Valley. The grouped section includes Nakuru, Baringo and Bogoria for waterbirds and their surrounding dry-country species.
Day 5
Kakamega forest and Lake Victoria
Add tropical-forest birding at Kakamega, then continue into the Lake Victoria portion of the journey. This stage shifts the species mix away from the Rift and northern savannas.
Day 6
Masai Mara game-drive finale
Use extended drives in the Masai Mara for grassland birds, raptors and major mammals. Return toward Nairobi after the final safari section.
