Nemunas Delta Canoe Birdwatching Day Tour
A nine-hour guided canoe birdwatching day in the Nemunas Delta and Curonian Lagoon, reaching shallow-water bird habitats from Mingė village.
About this tour
Explore the shallow waters where the Nemunas and Minija rivers meet the Curonian Lagoon on a small-group canoe birdwatching adventure.
After a safety briefing and paddling practice in Mingė marina, the group follows a twelve-kilometre route with stops, entering reedbeds and water-lily habitats that are difficult to reach from land.
Depending on the season, sightings may include Red-necked Grebe, Eurasian Bittern, White-tailed Eagle and Montagu’s Harrier among the many birds using the delta.
The route is rated easy and suitable for canoe beginners. Participants must be at least ten years old, know how to swim and bring suitable clothing for the conditions.
