About this tour
This fixed-departure Southern Namibia birding adventure follows Kobus Bekker's November 2026 route from Windhoek south through Mariental, Fish River Canyon, Aussenkehr, Rosh Pinah, Luderitz, Aus, Kronenhof, Sesriem and Walvis Bay.
The itinerary combines Namibia's desert, canyon, river and coastal wetland habitats with target birding for southern and coastal specials. Kobus confirmed that the trip is still on, currently has one client, and the group maximum is six travelers.
Price starts from USD 6,500 with meals and drinks included. The price may decrease as more clients join. Flights and transport to reach Namibia and return home are excluded.

Arrive in Windhoek and travel to Mariental / Hardap Dam NWR for the first night.
Continue south to Fish River Canyon, staying at Canyon Village in the Fish River Canyon area.
Travel to Aussenkehr and Norotshama on the Orange River.
Second day based at Norotshama for Orange River and surrounding dry-country birding.
Move to Rosh Pinah and Four Seasons for another southern Namibia route stop.
Travel to Luderitz for coastal desert birding and overnight at Obelix Guesthouse.
Continue to Aus and Bahnhof Hotel Aus, with desert birding en route.
Move through southern Namibia to At Kronenhof for the next overnight stop.
Travel toward Sesriem and Weltevrede / Sossusvlei for Namib Desert habitats.
Full day around Sesriem and Sossusvlei for dunes, desert landscapes and arid-zone species.
Travel to Walvis Bay and Desert Breeze, entering the coastal birding section of the tour.
Bird Walvis Bay coastal wetlands and surrounding habitats for shorebirds, seabirds and desert-edge species.
Fly out from Walvis Bay, or arrange an extra-cost transfer if departing elsewhere.

What flights should guests book?
Kobus advised guests should land in Windhoek on 2 November 2026, or on 1 November if pre-tour accommodation is arranged separately. Departure flights should leave from Walvis Bay.
Can guests depart from somewhere other than Walvis Bay?
Yes, but Kobus noted that an alternative transfer can be arranged at extra cost.
Is the group confirmed?
