Private Barycz Valley Birdwatching Walk
Explore the Milicz Ponds on a private, year-round birdwatching walk with a local ornithologist, supplied optics and a route adapted to the season.
About this tour
The Barycz Valley changes character throughout the year, and this private walk is designed around what the wetlands are offering on the day. Local biologist, ornithologist and nature guide Zuzanna Pestka chooses a route near Milicz through fish-pond margins, reedbeds, meadows, woodland and old tree avenues, adjusting the pace and distance to the group.
Binoculars, professional spotting scopes and bird guides are available during the outing. Zuzanna uses them to help participants compare shape, movement, habitat and field marks rather than simply naming each bird. This makes the experience useful both for first-time birdwatchers and for visitors who want a closer understanding of the Milicz Ponds.
White-tailed Eagle, Grey Heron and Great Cormorant are among the representative birds linked to the tour. Depending on season and daily conditions, the wider search can also include geese, grebes, waders and smaller passerines. These are possibilities in a wild setting, not guaranteed sightings.
The regular private format runs year-round for groups of up to ten. Current options cover a short 1.5-hour introduction, a standard three-hour outing and a longer five-hour experience, with the applicable group price shown in the pricing section. The meeting place near Milicz and final route are confirmed after inquiry, once weather, access, participant ability and recent bird activity can be considered.
