This diverse safari begins in Entebbe with a visit to the bird-rich Mabamba Swamp, one of the best places to spot the rare Shoebill. Journey through Uganda’s top birding destinations including Kibale Forest National Park, known for its primates and forest species, and Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering a mix of birding, game drives, and a scenic boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The adventure continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to rich birdlife and dense rainforest habitats, before returning to Entebbe. A well-rounded safari combining exceptional birdwatching, wildlife encounters, and stunning landscapes across Uganda.
Highlights include Shoebill Tracking at Mabamba Swamp by canoe, Exceptional Birdwatching across multiple ecosystems with 300+ species, Forest Birding in Kibale Forest National Park – rich in rare and endemic species, Primate Encounters – chimpanzees and colobus monkeys in Kibale and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Entebbe → Mabamba Swamp → Kampala Depart early from Entebbe and head to Mabamba Swamp, a RAMSAR wetland on the shores of Lake Victoria. Enjoy a guided canoe birding excursion through papyrus channels in search of the elusive Shoebill Stork, along with other wetland species.After birding, proceed to Kampala for check-in, relaxation, and overnight stay.
Kampala → Kibale Forest National Park After breakfast, drive west to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through scenic countryside. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon birding walk in the forest, searching for rare species such as the Green-breasted Pitta and African Grey Parrot. Dinner and overnight near Kibale.
Full Day in Kibale Forest National Park Spend the day exploring Kibale Forest on guided birding walks. This rich rainforest is home to over 350 bird species and several primates.Look out for special birds like the African Pitta, Narina Trogon, and Yellow-billed Barbet. You may also encounter chimpanzees and colobus monkeys. Dinner and overnight.
Kibale → Queen Elizabeth National Park After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.Later, proceed for an evening game drive to spot elephants, lions, buffalo, and more. Dinner and overnight in the park.
Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park Spend the day birdwatching across the park’s diverse ecosystems including savannah, wetlands, and forested areas.Look out for species such as the African Green Broadbill, Papyrus Gonolek, African Finfoot, and Martial Eagle. Wildlife sightings include hippos, antelopes, and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight.
Queen Elizabeth → Bwindi Impenetrable National Park After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, enjoying scenic views along the way.On arrival, take an afternoon birding walk in the dense rainforest, searching for forest specialists like the Bar-tailed Trogon and Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher. Dinner and overnight.
Bwindi → Entebbe (Departure) After breakfast, enjoy a morning birding walk in Bwindi, spotting species such as the African Emerald Cuckoo and Handsome Francolin.Later, begin your return journey to Entebbe with a stop at the Equator for photos. Arrive in the late afternoon for your departure flight.
