About this tour

Georgia changes character from the southern Appalachians and Piedmont woodlands to longleaf pine country, blackwater wetlands and Atlantic saltmarsh. This private full day is planned after inquiry, so Patrick Maurice can choose a practical region and route for the season, recent bird activity and the species or photography opportunities that matter most to you.

Patrick grew up birding in Georgia and holds a Wildlife Science degree from the University of Georgia. In the field, he combines local knowledge with clear help on identification, calls, behaviour and habitat. The pace can be adjusted for a newer birder, an experienced visitor working through a target list, or a photographer who would rather spend longer at fewer locations.

A northern or Piedmont day may concentrate on forest birds and seasonal warblers; central and southern routes can explore pine specialists and wetland habitats; coastal plans shift toward saltmarsh, shorebirds and seabirds. Those are planning directions rather than a fixed circuit. The final meeting point, driving distances and mix of walking and vehicle-based birding are agreed for the selected route.

The published USD 400 base rate covers one or two participants for a full birding day of about eight to ten hours. Private guiding, a customized itinerary and eBird checklists for visited locations are included. Meals, lodging, participant transport, entrance or permit costs, guide travel outside the local area and optional guide-provided transportation are separate unless specifically confirmed. Additional participants also change the price, so the complete total is reconfirmed after inquiry.
