Costanera Sur Buenos Aires Birding Tour
A 4-hour easy birding walk at Costanera Sur, one of Buenos Aires city’s best-known urban wildlife reserves.
About this tour
Costanera Sur is Diego Gallegos' easy in-city birding route, about 15 blocks from downtown Buenos Aires on the Rio de la Plata coast.
The reserve combines water bodies, forest, scrub and thick grassland. Birding starts even before entering the reserve, in parks with tall shade trees.
The official description highlights waterfowl as a main feature, with coots, gallinules, ducks, swans, jacana, herons, water passerines, hawks, parrots and other city wildlife such as lizards, cavies, turtles and coypus.
This is a strong first-day option for visitors staying in central Buenos Aires.
