Coscoroba Swan Coscoroba coscoroba is a swan of the Southern Cone in South America, breeding in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, southern Brazil and nearby areas, with records from the Falkland Islands and Bolivia. It is the only species in the genus Coscoroba. Although placed with the ducks, geese and swans, it looks unusual among them, with a form that sits between geese and true swans. It is a medium-large waterbird, smaller than the true swans, and the sexes share the same plumage. Adults are white with black tips to the outer six primary feathers, while the young show dark striping before maturing.
