Patagonia 7 Eco-Regions Birding Tour
Cross northern Patagonia through Monte scrub, steppe, Andean heights, Araucaria and Valdivian forests, Chilean coast and southern wetlands.
About this tour
This cross-border circuit brings seven Patagonian natural regions into one journey through Argentina and Chile. Starting in the dry Monte around Neuquén, it passes steppe, high Andean country and southern wetlands before entering Araucaria, Southern Beech and Valdivian rainforest habitats and reaching the Pacific coast.
The sample route covers about 540 kilometres in the Lakes District and uses the rapid change in elevation and rainfall to reach very different bird communities. It combines inland lakes and the Collón Curá valley with forest birding near San Martín de los Andes, a crossing by Puyehue Pass, coastal observation around Pucatrihue and mountain work near Bariloche. Birds are the focus, while mammals, landscapes and Mapuche cultural context are also part of the operator’s programme.
A small-group departure is shown for 1–14 March 2027 at USD 6,900 per person in shared double accommodation, with two to eight guests. The page retains the fuller sample sequence from arrival day 0 through departure day 14, so the exact date-by-date allocation, border formalities, transport, lodging, meals, park access, optional boat trip, ski-lift operation and single-room terms must be reconfirmed through BirdWatch.info.
