Batis minulla (Barboza du Bocage, 1874)

Angola Batis, Batis minulla, is a passerine of western and central Africa, breeding in Gabon, southern Congo, western DR Congo and western Angola. It belongs to the Platysteiridae family and was described by Barboza du Bocage in 1874. It is a small, rather dumpy bird with a pied pattern. Adult males have a bluish grey forehead and crown, a black facial mask, a white wing stripe and a black breast band, while females show chestnut on the breast instead. It lives in forest, woodland, bush and plantations.
