Milvus migrans

The Black Kite (Milvus migrans) is a medium-sized bird of prey found in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. It has a distinctive forked tail and a wingspan of around 150 cm. Black Kites are opportunistic hunters and scavengers, often seen soaring in the sky or perched in trees near water bodies. They feed on a variety of prey including small mammals, birds, and carrion. Their adaptability to various habitats, including open woodlands, grasslands, and urban areas, has contributed to their widespread distribution.
